Watches & Wonders 2026: This Year’s Most-Hyped Watches – Now at Montredo!
Once a year, the watch world holds its breath for a week: Watches & Wonders.
If you’re wondering what’s actually behind the name and why everyone’s suddenly talking about it, here’s the short version – followed by the highlights that have made their way straight into our shop at MONTREDO.
What exactly is Watches & Wonders?
Watches & Wonders is the world’s most important watch fair – the moment when the biggest manufactures unveil their novelties for the year. Founded in 2020 on the initiative of Rolex, Richemont and Patek Philippe, it has become the central stage of haute horlogerie. If you want to know where the watch world is heading for the year, this is the week to watch.
When did it take place this year?
The 2026 edition ran from April 14 to 20 at Palexpo in Geneva: four days reserved exclusively for trade and press, followed by three days open to the public. More than 65 brands presented their latest creations, accompanied by a full week of programming across the city center – from the Watchmaking Village to the Montreux Jazz Club right on the lakeshore. With over 55,000 visitors the year before, this was the largest edition of the fair to date.
This year’s hype – now in our shop at MONTREDO
We took a close look at which models and lines generated the most buzz in Geneva – and we’re happy to say: those exact watches are now available at MONTREDO.
TAG Heuer’s boldest Monaco in years. Behind the familiar square case sits the all-new Calibre TH80-00, built around a revolutionary compliant chronograph mechanism developed over five years in partnership with Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier. Traditional levers and springs are replaced by flexible, bi-stable components — manufactured using LIGA technology — that deliver consistent tactile feedback while reducing friction, wear, and mechanical complexity.
Housed in a 40mm grade-5 titanium case (available in natural titanium or black DLC-coated titanium), the movement beats at 5Hz, is COSC-certified, and offers a 70-hour power reserve. It also integrates TAG Heuer’s own TH-Carbonspring oscillator for enhanced magnetic resistance and stability.
Unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2026, the Monaco Evergraph combines one of watchmaking’s most iconic designs with one of its most significant recent mechanical innovations.
Created to mark the centenary of the waterproof Oyster case, the Oyster Perpetual Jubilee Motif brings a rare burst of colour to one of Rolex’s most understated collections. Its glossy lacquer dial is decorated with a vibrant repeating “ROLEX” motif in ten distinct colours, celebrating 100 years of the Oyster while showcasing the brand’s meticulous dial craftsmanship.
Beneath the playful exterior lies Rolex’s proven engineering: an Oystersteel case water-resistant to 100 metres and the calibre 3230 automatic movement with a Chronergy escapement and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. Available in 31, 36 and 41mm, it is a distinctive yet unmistakably Rolex interpretation of the anniversary.
IWC’s signature blue joins the compact Ingenieur 35 collection. Introduced at Watches & Wonders 2026, the 35mm Ingenieur Automatic pairs IWC’s characteristic blue grid-pattern dial with the collection’s defining design elements, including the five functional bezel screws and finely finished H-link bracelet.
Measuring just 9.4mm thick and water-resistant to 10 bar, it is powered by the automatic calibre 47110 with a 42-hour power reserve, visible through a sapphire display caseback. Inspired by Gérald Genta’s legendary 1976 design, it faithfully preserves the Ingenieur’s iconic character in a more compact and wearable format.
